Dr. Tilahun Esmael, the founding CEO of ESX, resigns, and Yodit Kassa takes over
Yodit Kassa has been appointed by the Board of Directors to succeed Tilahun Esmael Kassahun (PhD), the founding CEO of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX).
In a statement released on Friday, ESX welcomed Yodit on her appointment and hailed Tilahun for his “visionary leadership and invaluable contribution” to the establishment of Ethiopia’s securities exchange.
Yodit leaves ESX to take over as CEO. She worked across the Africa team of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for approximately ten years before joining the Exchange as Chief Business Development Officer in late 2023. Later on, she was the Chief Operating Officer of ESX.
