More than 20 billion in loans were disbursed through Mela, Endekise, and Medaresha by Dashen Bank in collaboration with Ethio Telecom’s Telebirr. These programs are intended to give consumers rapid, easy, and secure access to credit.
According to the bank, the digital lending project has significantly increased outreach during the last four years. More than 3 million borrowers have accessed loans using the platform, and more than 13 million loan contracts have been finalized.
The accomplishment, according to the bank, demonstrates how technology is boosting financial inclusion across the country and how digital financial services are growing in popularity.
